List Products on eBay

Overview

Listing an eBay product refers to the process where users, through the SellingPilot platform, successfully synchronize and publish product information to their eBay store, making the product ready for display and sales on eBay.

Before listing products, please make sure that a valid eBay store has been authorized in the SP. How to authorize eBay store in SP?

Step 1: Generate Draft

In the product pool list, users can find the products they want to publish to eBay. They can either generate draft individually or select multiple products for bulk generating. Generating draft means creating a draft for the product in the eBay listing without publishing it live.

What is Product Pool?

When generating draft, SP will by default sync the product’s basic information—such as title, description, bullet points, and images—into the listing. Therefore, it is recommended that users complete the product information as much as possible in the product pool list.

Products in the product pool can be claimed to different channels or stores, and can also be claimed multiple times to the same store.

When generating draft, subcategory is required:

  • Use Recommended Category: Use system-recommended category by default
  • Manual Category Selection: Users can browse the category list or search by keywords.

Step 2: Edit Listing

After a product is generated draft to an eBay store, you may need to modify or edit its information. How do you access the product editing page?

  • Once sucessfully generating draft the product, click Next to go directly to the listing editing page.

  • Click the small triangle next to the product pool list to expand, then click the store name.

  • Use the top menu (Product>Listing Management>eBay), then navigate to the Drafts section. Find the listing you want to list and click its title to enter the edit page.

Store The store where this edited listing will be published. If eBay authorizes multiple stores, users can switch between stores directly here. None
Product The SP SKU bound to this edited listing can be modified by clicking the pencil icon. None
Category The category list of eBay can be edited and modified by the user, and AI recommendations can also be used. Categories can be searched by keywords.
Name The product title on the eBay, with a character limit of 200. None
Store SKU User-assigned product number Once created successfully, it cannot be modified.
Product Identifier Code UPC, EAN, and GTIN — select the type according to your own coding None
Price Selling price on eBay None
Inventory When creating and publishing a listing, inventory is a required field. The warehouse here refers to the warehouse added by the user in the eBay backend. Warehouse information is automatically synchronized daily. Users can also click to Sync Manually and immediately update the warehouse list.

Image Product main images: you can upload up to 24 images, and the longest side of each image must be at least 500 pixels. None
Description Product details and bullet points: eBay supports up to 10 bullet points. AI can automatically generate descriptions based on product title.
Variations By default, 'No' is selected. If you need to create variants, select 'Yes,' and then add the variant products and their information. The added variants must correspond to products that already exist in the product pool list.

Step 3: Save&Publish

When all information is complete, the user can choose Save, which will only store the data in the SP without publishing to any channel; or choose Save&Publish to attempt creating the listing and uploading it to the eBay backend.

Creating and listing a product in SP are submitted together, so if any information is missing that prevents listing, the product creation will also fail.

Users can also select multiple or all products for bulk publishing.

After publishing, the product will enter the Processing. If the listing is created and activated successfully, it will move to the “Active” status. If the process fails, it will return to the Draft. Users can view the specific error messages, make corrections, and then republish.
